"KAIZO!! GET OUT OF THERE NOW!!" Jessie screams as the baby Aipom they had been tasked with watching jumped feet first into the poisoned lake in the middle of Sapling Village.

"Masaka!" Kaizo yelled back as he splashed around in the shallow pond, a little rock that he had obtained from the mystery gorilla he had met earlier that day. The odd shaped rock glowing brightly as purple mist from the lake began to swirl up and around it.

"I'll get him." Fushi muttered as he extended a vine to wrap around the obvious monkey.

"Ōi! Watashi o irete! Watashi wa jissai ni mizu no naka ni iku koto wa ima wa arimasen'node, watashi ga ika sete yowai kanji!" Kaizo bit into the vine, causing Fushi to drop him back in the purplish water.

"Why you little..." Fushi grumbled as they tried to come up with a new plan to get him out of the poisonous lake.

"WAA! Kore wa totemo kūrudesu!" Kaizo yelled in excitement as other Pokémon crept closer to see what was going on.

"Any ideas?"

"Not really... At least that rock is doing what Trudeau said it would. That's better than what his toys usually do." Fushi said as he watched the orb steadily turn from a golden colour to a deep poisonous looking purple.

"Yeah, I'll try coxing him out. Maybe the promise of food will work." Jessie said as he moved closer to the pond bank.

"Good luck with that!" Fushi called as he nursed his injured vine, stupid kid. Why he had a need for ridiculously sharp teeth, Fushi’ll never understand.

“Kaizo!! Please come out of there! I’ll find some meat for you!!” Jessie called out enticingly.

“…” Kaizo paused in his playing, weighing the choices to continue playing or be given some of his precious meat. He had been having fun now that the water didn’t make him feel like sleeping for several days (It still made him a little dizzy but it was way more manageable now) but on the other hand…

“Kaizo?”

“NIKU!!” Kaizo screamed happily as he tackled the Pikachu to the ground with one powerful jump.

“KAIZO!!” Jessie screamed in shock as the Aipom stared at him with an amused look on his face. “Could you please get off me?” He asked, hoping that Kaizo would understand him. They had learned that while Kaizo had a somewhat grasp of the common language, he was unable to understand it very well or speak it himself.

“Na? What’s happening… body feels weak again…” Kaizo murmured before he toppled off Jessie, shivering and shaking uncontrollably as he lay on the mossy ground..

“Fushi, where’s Kaizo?” A familiar voice asked.

“Furea!? What are you doing here?” Fushi exclaimed as the Charmeleon stood beside him.

“I’m looking for someone who stole one of that loud Nidokings Dodoche…thingy.”

“…It wouldn’t happen to look like that would it?” Fushi queried, gesturing with his other vine to the item that Kaizo was clutching tightly to his chest as Jessie held him awkwardly close to his chest.

“Huh? Yeah that’s…KAIZO!!” Furea screamed as he took in the Aipom’s state.

“Hey Ni-san…” Kaizo said sheepishly, his voice lacking the usual energy that it usually did.

“You idiot…” Furea murmured, in a tone that was one third terrified/scolding/half exasperated. “I told you that you aren’t able stay in the water forever but did you listen? I think not. You only heard the part about being able to go in the water, not the bit that you wouldn’t last even five minutes before feeling the full force of it.”

“Nii-san…”

“Don’t you give me that Ni-san crap! It’s your own fault so deal with it. At least you can go in the water. I’m a fire type and because of my species in particular, I can’t even step in it without feeling a hundred times worse than you are.”

“Gomen…”

“I’m sure you are, come here.” Furea demanded as he took the small monkey into his own, much larger arms. “What am I gonna do with you huh?”

“Shinu koto wanai.” Kaizo said bluntly.

“Yeah, I’ll try not to. Come on, let’s head home.”

“Hai…” Kaizo agreed as his eyes closed as he fell unconscious, the day’s events finally catching up to him.

“Furea?” Jessie asked.

“I’ll take Kaizo home. Could I trouble you to return that thing?”

“Sure.” Jessie agreed.

“No need! You can keep this.” A red ball was thrust on top of Kaizo’s chest. “That little fella did a great job promoting my newest item so he can have this as a reward. Bye.” Trudeau the Nidoking said in a rush before leaving as quickly as he had arrived.

“…That was…awkward…” Jessie mumbled.

“More awkward than carrying Kaizo who’s twice your size?” Fushi asked in amusement as they headed on back to Fushi’s place.

“Let’s just forget that ever happened. Sheesh, and I thought Izo was crazy…”

“Izo? Who’s that?”

“Just someone I used to know. Never mind about it.
