Yuki sighed as she moved around the small camp, trying to think of how she could write a letter when she could barely see, let alone hold a pencil or even try to spell the words right. After all, Fushi had only enough time to teach her about of the basic Braille alphabet. Not nearly enough to be able to communicate clearly what she was feeling to Fushi, if he ever even received the letter in the first place.
She was so lost on thought that she didn't even realise that she was slowly wandering away from the group, thankfully someone else, two someone else's WERE watching the young Eevee, getting up in sync to reach Yuko before she moved out of sight and out of mind of the other Pokémon, after all there were so many of them that it was impossible to keep track of one of many young Pokémon.
"Careful!" A young Oshawott cautioned as Yuki suddenly felt herself being picked up. A quick scan of the unknown Pokémon's aura was that of a young male Buizel.
"Who are you?" Yuki asked as she was caries back to the makeshift camp.
"Just two Pokémon who worry about young Pokémon like you getting separated from the main group." The Buizel replied, his voice soft and soothing on her sensitive ears. "I'm Jiyu by the way and my companion over here is Ed the Oshawott." He told her as they set her down. The crinkle of paper echoed in her ears.
"Are you writing a letter as well?" She asked as Jiyū's aura shifted, indicating that he had sat down.
"Yeah... Come to think of it, why aren't you? I mean there must be someone worried about you, right?" Jiyū asked curiously.
"Yeah, I guess Papa would be pretty worried at this point but how can I let him know that I'm alright?"
"You can't read or write?" Ed asked in confusion.
"No, I'm nearly blind and I don't even know half of the Braille alphabet that Papa had been teaching me and what good is that, after all, Braille is raised dots or stones. You can't actually WRITE a Braille letter I think..." Yuki finished her rant with small teardrops of frustration appearing in her unseeing eyes.
"Got everything off your chest?" Jiyu asked patiently as she took a few short, deep breaths.
"I think so..." Yuki said as she slumped to the ground in exhaustion, the days long event finally getting to her.
"That's great." Ed said as he pulled out a pencil and began to sketch out the start of a letter. Jiyu here and I were about to start on our letter. After all, I'm sure that my partner Jessie must be out of his mind with worry after I suddenly disappeared and I bet that Jiyu's partner will be worried as well."
"Furea's probably even worse off..." Jiyu muttered as his eyes turned misty and unfocused, remembering something from his past that he didn't reveal to the others.
"What's this got to do with me though?" Yuki asked in confusion, tilting her shiny fluffy white head to one side cutely.
"We'll you've got things that you want to say to you partner and so do we so we've decided to save a tree and write our letters on one letter." Ed explained. "Besides, that'll force Jes to forget about me for a moment while he tries to find Jiyu's and your partner... That is if you're willing to go along with this."
Yuki thought long and after about this. The silence seemed to stretch on forever though in reality or was only a few minutes. Finally Yuki nodded her head in agreement to the older boy's plan.
"So...Shall we start?" Jiyu asked, startling the other two for a moment who had forgotten that he was there.
"Yes, let's..." Ed muttered as he started to write before pausing for a moment in confusion. "Say Miss... What's your partner's name?"
"My partner and adoptive father's name is Fushi the Bulbasaur and I'm Yuki the Eevee. Pleased to meet you."
And the story is quite nice, too.
